The Irving Noon-Day Lions conduct several Vision Clinics during the IISD school year.  Students are referrd byn their school nurses through the Head Nurse's Office and come to the Irving YMCA to be screened by an Optomitrist on the Lions Sight & Tissue Foundation Vision Van (a 40 foot Blue Bird equipped with 2 doctor stations and other screening equipment).  They pick out a frame and the glasses are then delivered to the school in 3-4 weeks.  This provides them with better vision in the classroom which has been shown to improve performance.
