Five major ski resorts are within 25 minutes, including Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, Boreal Ridge, and Sugar Bowl. In addition, Tahoe Donner has its own down-hill ski area, perfect for beginners (children under six ski for free). Tahoe Donner has its own cross country area as well as open areas for cross country and/or snow shoeing - all five minutes away.
