Description

It is not every day you get the opportunity to acquire a specimen like this one. Comprised of quartz, calcite and surrounded by smithsonite in a basalt bedrock. This rare geode comes from an area near the Ellora Caves, near Aurangabad, India.

Ellora, in Maharashtra, India, is one of the largest rock-cut monastery-temple cave complexes in the world, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring Buddhist, Hindu and Jain monuments, and artwork, dating from the 600-1000 CE period.

The bedrock in this geode is the same rock that was carved to create this historic cave temple complex.

Do not miss the chance to make this piece a part of your collection. A truly rare find indeed!
