“Waiting on a Train” 6”x8” Oil Painting by Laura Baran

Laura Baran is an award-winning fine artist and illustrator based in New York City. She received her BFA in Illustration with honors from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and has shown in group exhibitions throughout the country. She creates illustration work for national clients including HarperCollins and La Mer, and her paintings are held in private collections in the US, UK and Australia.

Her work is rooted in emotional response to color, people and place. In her paintings, she explores celebration and its effect on the quality of life, merging her passions of creativity and healing. She splits her time between illustrating, painting commissioned work, hosting empowering art workshops through her organization Arts & Dreams, and caring for her two year old son.
