MIXED CASE 3 BOTTLES OF 4 DIFFERNT ITALIAN WINES

*2013 Fattoria di Fèlsina Berardenga Fontalloro

Winemaker Notes
Ruby red in color, this wine offers notes of aromatic herbs, tobacco, wet earth, black currant and licorice. On the palate, it is rich and elegant, showing medium-smooth tannins and nice weight on the finish.

Critical Acclaim: RP96 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Gorgeous and soft, the 2013 Fontalloro is another landmark wine from this classic vintage. There is enormous intensity here and the wine is only at the beginning of its long aging trajectory. I suggest you put off drinking it for five to ten more years. There is evident thickness and generosity here, especially in the way those bold fruit favors are woven between dark spice and leather. There are sour accents on the close that remind you of the wine's youth. The tannins are fine and well integrated.

*2011 Paitin di Pasquero-Elia Barbaresco Sorì Paitin

Winemaker Notes
Barbaresco Serra shows the elegance of the Nebbiolo with aromas of violets, currant, and and red raspberry. The wine is complex, and full bodied with nice tannins.

Critical Acclaim: Antonio Galloni 93 points “Crushed flowers, sweet red berries, spices and mint race across the palate in the 2011 Barbaresco Serra. This is one of the most intense, tannic 2011 Barbarescos readers will come across. Far from an easygoing wine, the 2011 is going to need considerable patience. Hints of sweet tobacco, mint and anise add nuance on the layered, super-expressive finish. The 2011 Serra spent two years in 50-hectoliter casks.” AG

*2014 E. Pira Chiara Boschis Barolo Via Nuova

Critical Acclaim: Vinous Media 95 points - The 2014 Barolo Via Nuova is a blend of six sites - Liste, Terlo, Ravera di Monforte, Mosconi, Gabutti and Baudana - all of which are bottled as vineyard designates by other growers. There is something about the art of the blend that can be convincing, especially in challenging vintages such as 2014. The Via Nuova is a veritable explosion of aromas, flavors and sensations. Super-ripe red cherry, plum, kirsch, cinnamon and lavender all rush from the glass. Sweet, perfumed and beautifully layered throughout, the 2014 Via Nuova is all finesse.

*2013 Produttori del Barbaresco Montestefano Riserva (Barbaresco)

Winemaker Notes
New leather, camphor, forest berry, dried rose and culinary spice are some of the aromas you'll find on this exceptional red. The firmly structured, poised palate doles out juicy cranberry, crushed raspberry, white pepper and star anise framed in tightly-knit, refined tannins while bright acidity provides energy and balance. Drink 2020–2033.

Critical Acclaim: WS96 Wine Spectator
This is full-bodied, displaying cherry, licorice, wild herb, iron and tobacco notes. The dense tannins take over and dominate the finish now, despite this remaining fresh and long. Full-bodied and minerally.
