• 1 bottle of 2007 Martinelli Jackass Vineyard Zinfandel, $110 value. This will go down as one of the best vintages of the decade. It was an excellent growing year, with the ideal slow ripening period from the cool mornings to the warmer afternoons. Wines were ripe, complex, and balanced.

• 1 bottle of 2005 Martinelli Lolita Ranch Syrah, $80 value. From acclaimed winemaker Helen Turley! Rain during bloom-time in the vineyards caused shatter in the clusters and a smaller than average yield, especially for Pinot Noir and Zinfandel. This was a year that was highly touted by critics. Wines were balanced and elegant.
