Gift certificate for two people to attend an Adult Intro to Rowing class at Community Rowing!

Each Intro to Rowing session is three weeks in duration with 2 classes per week on the Charles River. Students will learn the basics of rowing sweep, water safety, and boat handling.

Session times include early and mid-morning as well as evening. No matter your schedule, they have a time for you.

Intro to Rowing is their basic introductory class that will get you on the Charles and learning the basics in no time. Classes are taught in the 12 person barge allowing participants the opportunity to learn rowing terminology and technique. Each rower controls one oar and the boat is steered by a coxswain, who will be a rower from the class. Upon successful completion of Intro to Rowing, students can progress to the Novice Sweeps program.

Rowing is not only a sport that uses all of your major muscle groups and, therefore, great for your personal health and fitness, but it is also a sport for life.
