This breathtaking charcoal pencil sketch, created by St. Raymond parent Dan Macri  is based on a photo of Jesus Christ from the movie “Passion of the Christ”. She felt that the pensive expression on Jesus’ face reveals his loving resolve.

From Dan, "I learned and enjoyed sketching since childhood and even though I’m not a professional artist, I try to find time to sketch whenever possible. Apart from my children and other family members, my favorite subjects are beloved Catholic figures. They convey a richness of meaning, evoke deep thoughts and emotions, and reveal beauty beyond physical appearance."

This sketch has been sprayed with preservative coating to retain its original condition, but be careful not to touch the surface if it’s taken out of the frame.
