Join Ms. Michal, Communication Arts Teacher on May 16, 2019 to attend a presentation and learn about the environmental and community success story that Is happening in Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique, Africa. The lecture begins at 6:30 and ends no later than 8 PM. We will meet at Forest Glen METRO at 5:30 and head down to National Geographic. Talks are approximately 90 minutes long and are appropriate for children ages 5 and up unless noted on the event page. 4th and 5th grade Jr. Press Corps students have learned about this remarkable restoration project. Attendees can be two students or a parent and a child or two adults.  


 


ABOUT THIS EVENT: Enter the valley grasslands, woodland savannas, and lush rainforests of Mozambique’s exceptionally biodiverse Gorongosa National Park with conservation ecologist Dominique Gonçalves, who is working to save its elephants, Matthew Jordan, the park’s general manager of agribusiness and coffee production, and Larissa Sousa, its girls' education program manager.
