Description
Wine connoisseurs will love this tour and tasting for 4 at Wellington Vineyards in Glen Ellen! Wellington Vineyards is a 7,000 case winery located on a 24 acre vineyard purchased by John and Peter Wellington in 1986. The vines range from seven to 119 years old, and are farmed sustainably: never using any insecticides or synthetic fungicides. Solar cells generate 100% of the winery's electricity. Grapes are also purchased from about 15 unique, small Sonoma County vineyards. In addition to award winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel, the winery is well known for its less common wines: Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache, Alicante Bouchet, and three Ports-vintage, tawny and white. The winery is nestled between the lovely towns of Glen Ellen and Kenwood (locals call it Glenwood). The hospitality staff is highly enthusiastic, friendly and is sure to provide you with an educational and fun introduction to Wellington wines. They are a small but tight-knit group of individuals. You may even meet Peter Wellington and David Noyes, along with their wine making staff! Restrictions: expires 10/30/2019.
