Joel graduated with a music diploma from Prairie College in Three Hills (studying under JUNO award winner Brian Doerksen) and an audio engineering diploma from The Academy of Production & Recording Arts in Calgary. He has also taken courses in jazz improvisation, musicianship, songwriting, and music production through Berklee College of Music.

He has worked in the music industry full time for a number of years in a variety of roles. When teaching, he likes to create a fun and stress-free environment that encourages his students to feel comfortable and motivated to learn and grow in their abilities. Everyone has a unique style and different goals, and he's here to help you get where you’re looking to go.
