Description

As you drive through Arden every day on your way to WMS, do you ever wonder what lies beyond the tree-lined border of Harvey Road? Learn about the quirky, single-tax community known as one of the oldest secular utopian communities in the nation. Your tour will include a visit to the Buzz Ware Village Center, previous home to Wilmington Montessori School, Village Greens, hidden footpaths and the Arden woods along Naaman’s Creek. See remnants of the concrete dam that formed the historic swimming pool and the infamous Indian Circle. Your tour can be customized to your interests to include various theaters (indoor and outdoor), playgrounds, Perkins Run, Hop Rocking, historic memorial gardens or a visit to the Arden Craft Shop Museum. The tour will include a meal in the home built by socialist author Upton Sinclair and a walking tour map of the Ardens.

Date and time to be determined through mutual agreement by host and auction winner. Up to six people (adults and children).
