Description
CEC grandparent and fine artist Sharyn Richardson: "I’m a digital artist with a traditional oil aesthetic. The Light Pixie Studio webite and blog have many examples of my work — https://lightpixiestudio.com My paintings include meaningful details relevant to the individual portrayed. I work until the client is pleased with the result and the subject is accurately captured with their unique story told. I’m never satisfied until the client is.
Should you bid and win this donation we’ll begin with a telephone interview to introduce ourselves and to discover what you have in mind. Who will have their portrait made? Is there a second person or a pet to include? What is the story to be revealed in my work? Once there is a shape to the idea, I’ll ask for visual information about the subject, and with that to be conveyed in one of several ways including a shared Dropbox folder, mailed as hardcopies that will be returned to you, or obtained by me during one a several trips to Los Angeles each year. I do not repaint photographs but create brush stroke by brush stroke. The image(s) you provide are reference only and don’t need to be good quality, just clear enough for recognizable facial features.
You will have an initial sketch from me to show where the work is heading and images along the way as I paint. I’ll ask for your input and you can make suggestions. Once the painting is finished to both of our satisfaction, I produce it on heavy archival canvas with pigmented color sealed with a protective coating against UV light to insure many decades of sharp detail and true color. Size is negotiable but in general my work is in the range of 16” x 20” (larger or smaller as needed to adjust for the aspect ratio of each unique portrait). "
