Urban parent Sam Hunt (Mason '19 and Sasha '20) has created a distinctively layered and eye-catching piece. 

This stunning image is oil on board. Sam uses a process of reduction, meaning that he paints over the board with black paint, and then goes back with scrapers and rollers and spirits to bring light into the image and to define the surfaces/objects in the resulting painting. The images are based on photos, or composites of photos, Sam takes around the city of San Francisco.
