With this song recording and production package, two WNS students who are passionate singer-songwriters will be guided through the entire music production process, with the help of WNS Dad and film composer Sven Faulconer and A-list composer James Newton Howard (Hunger Games, Maleficent, Fantastic Beasts, The Dark Knight). The goal is for our young artists to bring one of their own original songs to the studio and end up with a fully finished song. This will include vocal and instrumental recording sessions at Sven's and James' studios as well as any additional production required to get the song to sound as per the artists vision. Some kind of affinity with singing and songwriting will be expected. Here's a breakdown of what the recording and production bundle includes: - Day 1 at Sven's studio: We discuss the songs and record a rough version of it (vocals, guitar, etc.). Sven will prepare the necessary guide tracks for a recording session at James Newton Howard's studio (JNH Studios), and e-mail them to the songwriters for rehearsal purposes. - Day 2 at JNH Studios: Both songwriters get to sit down with James Newton Howard for about an hour. They'll get to play him the rough versions of their songs, get his advice, and ask him any questions they might have. James will give them some pointers for the recording and we then get access to his recording studio to record the final vocals as well as one other acoustic instrument for each of them. Sven will finish any additional production of the songs (orchestra, strings, synths, percussion,…). - Day 3 at Sven's studio: Songwriters work with Sven's studio to finish any final tweaks. The final songs will be finished, mastered and sent to our singer-songwriters.
