As the nationally-acclaimed professional theatre of the Merrimack Valley, Merrimack Repertory Theatre is located in beautiful and historic downtown Lowell. As a non-profit theatre, they are dedicated to theater as an art form rather than a commercial enterprise.

MRT's mission is “to advance the cause of human understanding by creating theatrical productions at the highest level of artistic excellence and making them affordable to the broadest possible community."

It is one of just 74 theaters nationwide with membership in LORT (the League of Resident Theatres), the organization representing America’s leading professional theater companies. It is one of only nine LORT theaters in New England (one of just three in Massachusetts) and the only one serving Northeastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.
