When the teachers received donations from friends and family over the holidays, they were inspired to make it an exciting opportunity for children to explore different art materials. During circle work, the Circles worked together to add color to the ivory wallpaper panels using watercolor, but with the surplus of papers and fabrics from donations, the idea to open up the experience to all the children of Playgroup emerged.

Making it an open-ended collaborative collage allowed each child to explore fabric, paper, and glue at their own pace. What was even more exciting was the transformation of this art piece and the communication that occurred between peers as they reflected on their different discoveries, techniques, and the inspiration it had in their play.
