Description

Glenda was born in Havana Cuba, October 9th, 1975. In 1999, while recovering from surgery, she read a book about the history of art, and came to the realization that she wanted to dedicate her life to this field.

Full of enthusiasm and dedication, she initiated her journey through the enchanted world of the arts, in 2001, she graduated in Plastic Arts from the Elementary School of Arts, "Jose Antonio Diaz Pelaez”.  The following year, she was certified in Drawing at Taller Manero.  Later, in 2005, she applied herself and obtained certification in Sculpting from Taller D'Toxte.

The grand masters of Art and sculpting, such as Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Servando, Ponce de Leon, and Giacometti became big influences for her. Little by little she was creating properly expressionist art.

Glenda, in love with arts, continued her professional development. In 2007 she earned a certification in Preventive Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the National Center for Conservation, Restoration and Museology (CENCREM), in Havana, Cuba.

All these years, she was exposing her work in several galleries, furthermore, in 2009, Glenda was invited to serve as a juror for the “Comisión de Crecimiento” of the “Asociación Hermanos Saíz” (AHS). She served again in 2010 at the “Salón de la Ciudad” at “Centro de Arte y Diseño”, Luz y Oficios as part of the AHS Jury. This event is one of the largest art expositions/competitions in Cuba.

Currently residing in Miami, Florida, she is preparing to expose her work, based on the link between “The Word and the Form”. Planning on developing and exhibiting the art pieces, as an unavoidable medium to express her world.
