From the Photographer...

I always carry a camera with me so that when something grabs my eye, I can shoot it immediately. This was taken in the fall (2017) when I noticed the raindrops sitting on a spider's web over fallen leaves.

About Wendy Naidich...

I began college as an art major, but took a different path for most of the next 30 years.  Though I’ve always taken pictures and done work in other mediums, photography became more central again as my kids grew up.  My re-introduction was photographing plays in the Hastings Schools, and the more I shot photos, the more I saw details, played with composition, and expanded my subjects.   My eye is drawn to architectural details of buildings and bridges, the mystery of woods and forests, and animals, especially when they make perfect eye contact with the camera.  Sometimes I focus in on the detail of a building, tree, river, bridge - revealing layers, patterns, forms and colors that are hidden when you only look at the big picture. Close up they become abstract; blown up they become painterly.
