Canine portraiture has a very long illustrious history. Our pets, particularly dogs, play a major role in our lives and so commissioning an oil portrait is a wonderful way to capture them. Digital photos are great but there's something so special about an oil painting that a photo just can't provide.

Johanne Mangi paints a variety of subjects but her passion is for the canine variety, and she looks to her own furry herd of six for inspiration and life drawing.  Her pet portraiture has been recognized with exhibits at the National Arts Club and Portraits, Inc. in New York, and other high profile venues.
