DESCRIPTION: In this multicultural project, we are representing the world’s continents with designs using various materials and colors woven together.  Weaving has been used in all the great civilizations. It is an old technique used to produce textiles from plants, wool, cotton, silk, etc. Each student chose their own continent after watching a video and talking about all of the continents. The students used a weaving loom with the colors and materials representing their chosen continent. Over a period of several working sessions the project took shape and they are very proud of the results.
