This "Teacher Wish List" donation will purchase a Go Direct SpectroVis Plus Spectrophotometer for use in Chemistry and Biology classes.
The Go Direct™ SpectroVis® Plus Spectrophotometer quickly measures a full wavelength spectrum. It directly connects wirelessly via Bluetooth® or wired via USB to your platform.
From Richard Gibson, TMS Science teacher: "Having a spectrophotometer will allow students in Chemistry and Biology to do labs such as determining the absorption spectra of light sensitive chemicals like chlorophyll, food dyes and sunscreens. Chemistry students will also be able to do labs involving Beer's Law to determine the concentration and composition of solutions, and to understand why certain ions tend to have colored solutions. The instructor will be able to use this to verify standardized solution concentrations in the Chemistry lab. This is a recommended piece of equipment for high school Chemistry classes."
