Description
Get an insider's knowledge of Frederiksborg Castle Church on this exclusive guided tour with Rev. Birgitte Grøn, one of the ministers at the church.
Frederiksborg Castle Church in Hillerød is a magnificent and impressive church room, planned and built as the private church of the royal family. No expenses were spared when Christian the 4th set off the construction of the church in 1606-17: skilled craftsmen were fetched from all over Europe to create the artistic decorations, among others unique intarsia work in the pews, gilded and painted stucco in the valves, apostle figures in all recesses, and symbols of the king’s tasks and duties in the arches.
Today, the castle church serves as parish church and is open in connection with services, christenings, confirmations and weddings. This guided tour will give you a unique opportunity to see the church guided by Rev. Birgitte Grøn who has worked as a minister for Frederiksborg Castle Church for many years and knows the daily ins and outs of the church daily life, culture and history.
