The people who call California home are as diverse and beautiful as the landscape, and we are all fortunate to live within its splendor. California is divided into 58 counties, each with a unique landscape, industry, and climate. Our project, code-named "California Dreamin'", aims to help Ms. Schrittwieser's first-grade class explore California, by painting each county as a wooden puzzle piece. Puzzle pieces were custom cut and prepared by Greg Fulcher and hand painted by the students. The kids worked together to re-assemble the map in its frame, which can be used as a table-top puzzle or glued in place as a one-of-a-kind wall hanging.
