David Pitts's Bio:

David is a USPTA Certified Tennis Professional and has been the Director of
Tennis since 1995. Under his direction Tanoan has been awarded Club of the
Year in 1997, 2000 and 2003 for its service to its membership and involvement in
the Albuquerque tennis community. During his tenure at Tanoan he has served on
the NNMDTA board of directors and has been honored with the Tournament
Director of the Year in 1997 and 1998, the Tournament Enhancement award in
2005, 2010 and has also won the Adult Sportsmanship award.

David has over 40 years coaching experience working with both adult and junior
players of all ages and skill levels in resorts, private clubs, and international
settings. His Junior Programs have consistently produced highly ranked players.
He has coached over 20 state champions, has had multiple players ranked number one in New Mexico, and has coached eight nationally ranked players; his highest reaching number four in the nation.

David continues to compete in tournaments and USTA Leagues, bringing a
passion and true love of the game to Tanoan and his students. He takes a holistic
approach to coaching believing that solid fundamentals, sound strategies, mental
toughness, and fitness and nutrition all play a role in making a complete player.
He also understands and emphasizes that enjoyment of the game and love of the
process is the key for both recreational and serious tournament players.

Tanoan Country Club’s 14 tennis courts (eight of them lighted) are a hub of activity throughout the year. The club maintains a year-round calendar of USTA-approved tournaments, leagues and round robins for all ages and abilities, with a talented team of USTA-certified teaching professionals available for private lessons and junior development programs
