GREEN OLIVE OIL ΑΓΟΥΡΕΛΑΙΟ (AGOURELEO)

Green Olive oil is produced with unripe green olives. This is the early harvest - usually during October in Mt Pelion. Early harvest extra virgin olive oils can be hard to find since unripe olives produce less oil and need to be handpicked right from the trees and cold pressed the same day. Their bitter taste and characteristic aroma makes them a rare delicacy. Their extra low acidity and high antioxidant content makes them a superfood. Rich in Polyphenols Oleacein and Oleocanthal, green olive oils are the only source of food containing those two powerful antioxidants at this content and are regarded by many a key to longevity. The higher chlorophyll content in unripe olives, the absence of filtration, and the low press temperature yield a greener, hazy color. Very limited quantities of olive oil are produced from unripe fruit each year. An authentic early harvest olive oil carries the passion of its people and the characteristics of the region.
