 "Jayson Tatum submitted the biggest highlight of the Boston Celtics’ 2017-18 season during Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The precocious wing hammered home a dunk directly on top of the game’s best, most physically dominant player, LeBron James.

He discussed how the play unfolded during a recent appearance on the Bill Simmons Podcast.

“I knew when Brad drew up the play, I told myself I was gonna dunk the ball. I remember I told myself, ‘just go to the rim, go try to dunk it.’ I obviously didn’t know he was gonna be down there, but when I turned the corner I saw him, and I was like ‘uh oh.’

I just knew I had to try to dunk it as quick as possible because obviously, he’s a great shot blocker. It just happened so fast, I don’t even remember jumping. I just remember jumping and then I blinked, and then I dunked on him, and I chest bumped him.”

Ultimately, Tatum’s momentary, individual triumph at the rim proved for naught. James and the Cavs would go on to win the decisive game and earn a trip to the NBA finals in the process.
