"Blue" by Hugh Maguire

This is an incredible opportunity to own a piece of "Welcome to Paradise"! 
Artist Hugh Maguire has generously donated two of his paintings, featured on the walls of the "Welcome to Paradise" set, to the Purple Rose Theatre Rustic Rose 2019.

You will see "Blue" hanging on the back wall of the "Welcome to Paradise" set.

Painted on wood, "Blue" is a lovely 26x20 piece, sure to draw attention in any space.

Hugh Maguire makes his art at his home studio home in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and its suburbs. Later he
received his BA from Goddard College in Vermont where he studied theatre and set design. In 1977 he moved to Los Angeles, CA where he met his wife, actress Ruth Crawford (currently featured in "Welcome to Paradise"). They had successful careers as actors there for the next twenty-seven years.

Hugh has worked primarily with acrylic on wood but is always
experimenting with new materials and techniques. The artist makes art that has a sense and a deep understanding of an abstract, emotive vocabulary and style that expresses a deep emotional life. He had worked for a time largely using wax and pigment and found objects. Other times with oil stick and wax. Recently, he’s been working on sculptural pieces made from wired together found objects inspired by the work of Lee Bontecou.
