College Essay (Common App) No Bad Ideas Brainstorm Session!

One hour in-person drafting session for 2020 graduates, i.e. seniors applying fall 2019, with college coach Elizabeth England. Using the Common Application (CA) essay prompts as springboards, you will work together to find a topic that satisfies a prompt, engages the reader and feels honest in tone and point-of-view to the student/applicant. Ms. England's background in PR, marketing and branding as well as years spent as a fiction and creative non-fiction writing teacher come into play when she looks at a student's dossier.  As Ms. England says, "The college essay shouldn't be a reiteration of what's already obvious from test scores, grades, teacher recommendations, outside interests, summer experiences, sports achievements, etc. Rather, a good essay adds dimension, character and personality to a student's application.
