Take a note from the pros - you will get a different experience drinking wine from a proper wine glass. Each glass is specifically made with base, stem, bowl, and rim all in mind to fit that exact type of wine. Red wine glasses generally have a larger bowl, along with a narrower rim. White wines have a narrower bowl, but still have a narrow rim, and must have a stem! The stem keeps your hands off the bowl of the glass so your body temperature doesn't affect the chilled wine.
