On site in San Marino, just 12 miles from downtown Los Angeles, we host more than 750,000 visitors each year from all walks of life, from the United States and from around the globe, who come to enjoy our gardens and galleries, conduct research, and learn from our collections. In 1903 Henry E. Huntington purchased the San Marino Ranch, a working ranch with citrus groves, nut and fruit orchards, alfalfa crops, a small herd of cows, and poultry. Today, the estate is home to 16 spectacular themed gardens spread across 120 acres.
