Villa Pietro is a beautiful rural farmhouse in Cortona, Italy.  The house is situated on the ring road of Cortona that wraps around the town. The road is lined with cypress trees and both this road and Villa Pietro have a spectacular view of
the Val di Chiana and the Lake Trasimeno beyond. Close by on the road sits the famous Bramasole , home of Frances Mayes, who wrote ‘Under the Tuscan Sun.’ The walk to town takes about 15 or 20 minutes, wrapping around the hillside and through the beautiful ‘Parterre’ a stunning tree lined park that was gifted by the French around the turn of the last century. It is very French in feel and is one of the only parks of it’s kind in Italy. The park leads to Via Nazionale, the main entrance to town, with all the beautiful shops, restaurants and cafes.

Villa Pietro has been recently renovated while still retaining many of it’s original features. There is a stunning garden, private pool and terraced garden with beautiful olive trees. There is even a donkey who resides on the property! This farmhouse villa is comprised of two separate apartments in the building, joined by a common wall. The first apartment features a cozy living room with a fireplace and comfy furniture. In the kitchen you will find everything you’ll need to cook a homemade meal. There is a dining room and the kitchen opens out to the beautiful outdoor patio. A wooden staircase in the living room leads to the first floor where there are two bedrooms with queen sized beds and another room with two single beds. You will find two bathrooms in this apartment. The entrance to the second apartment opens onto the living room. Here one can find a stone fireplace, sofas and comfortable armchairs. An archway frames the fully-equipped kitchen which can easily accommodate 10 people. A bathroom with shower and a laundry room can also be found on this floor. A wooden staircase in the living room leads to the first floor where there are two double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. This apartment also features a gorgeous patio with outdoor furniture. The pool and views are exquisite and the relaxation one can
experience at Villa Pietro is unparalleled.

are extra fees that are based on usage, to be paid to the owner at the end of your stay.

CORTONA
Cortona is a 3,000 year old Etruscan hill-town conveniently situated in Tuscany between Florence and Rome. It lays on the main rail line
and also the main Autostrada between Rome and Florence.
Cortona was recently made famous by the book/movie “Under the Tuscan Sun”. Along with incredible physical beauty and views of the valley and lake Trasimeno below, Cortona offers a array of fine restaurants and shops. The town also boasts two museums and numerous churches and historical sights. It truly is a magical place to explore!
*Please note: Cortona is an ancient, walled hilltown with many stairs, steep streets and limited driving/parking with no elevators or handicap
accomodations. Please be advised of this if you have mobility issues of any sort.

Stacey Mattraw and Rob Friedman, the former owners of Urbino in Portland, Oregon, have been traveling to Italy for 30 years and
have lived between Portland and Cortona for the past 15 years. They have developed an intimate knowledge of the town and and
have established significant friendships and relationships with the Cortona local people. They have secured the booking rights to these
wonderful Cortona homes featured on the Sojourn Ventures website and have personally developed strong working relationships with
these Italian owners. They have inspected all of their featured homes ensuring a high level of taste and amenities.
Stacey and Rob provide a “concierge service” for their guests to ensure a unique experience not normally available to tourists. Their
famous “Insider Tips to Cortona” is a booklet they have prepared to give you valuable information regarding travel in Italy and specific
information on Cortona, including favorite restaurants, cafes, shops, food stores, etc.
Their Italian partner Denyse Perathoner of Together in Tuscany, a local Cortona tour company, is their guests’ contact and check in
person. She offers a variety of fantastic local tours and activities, the most popular being personalized cooking classes and wine tours.
