Kindergarten C : 2019 - Jardin Plan Versailles
- 30X40
- Mixed Media on Canvas
Stéphanie & Paul-Henri’s class experimented with several different mediums to recreate the vast gardens of Versailles. Using gels, sands, foils, paints, pastels, markets and crayons they each worked on specific areas of the garden and palace to create their individual landscapes.
Inspired by aerial views of the garden, the students of Kindergarten C used brushes, sponges, palette scrapers, wood blocks as well as their hands to create the trees, bushes, flowers, palace and shapes seen from a birds-eye-view. Done in several stages, the students first had the opportunity to play with the different tools and mediums and practice new techniques. Inspired by discussion and pictures of the gardens of Versailles as well as experimenting with the mediums the students each got a section of the garden to create their designs. Each student spent individual time on their section, which was created over pre-taped areas using painter’s tape. Once the mediums dried, the painter’s tape was removed to reveal the walkways and shapes around each section of the final painting.
