Les lumières de Versailles
Set of 5 tealight holders
Concrete, paint, glitters
Bénédicte’s class have made different projects by modeling shapes during the year (letters, shapes, animals,). The Lilapalooza project was the ultimate experience, by manipulating concrete in the class: the texture, the smell, the transformation when it dries, … Children learned what it takes to create beautiful items from dust: method, time and patience!
The students of Pre-KA discovered how to work with concrete and decided what colors to use on the tealights: gold, white and blue, just like Louis XIV’s cape! The “Fleurs de Lys” were also added as a symbol of Versailles, just like the item itself, that brings light and reminds us the famous “Galerie des glaces”.
This item is on display in the LILA Art Gallery.
Thank you to our teachers and students for this contribution.
