Minorcan Mike's is a local, family owned Datil Pepper Sauce company that specializes in all things Datil. Datil peppers have been apart of the O’Steen family legacy for generations. Minorcan Mike himself grew up in St. Augustine and he can vividly remember his grandfather growing the datil pepper plants in his hothouse. Mike grew up around datil peppers and learned at an early age how to cook with them and how to perfect his family’s recipe to create the delicious sauce we enjoy today. He started making sauce as a hobby about 10 years ago for oyster roasts and has recently decided to go back to his datil pepper roots and create a product line that is tantalizing.

Minorcan Mike’s Datil Pepper Sauce is also homage to Mike’s heritage. He is a direct descendant of the Minorcans who arrived on the shores of St. Augustine in the 1700s from the island of Minorca. The datil business is still a family affair for the O’Steens with the whole family involved. Minorcan Mike’s started with just the datil pepper sauce, and has recently expanded his product line with Datil Pepper Jelly and Datil Pepper Salsa.
