Creative Writing: Though many students hunger for creative writing, there is little time in school for it--let me help! Through years of teaching creative writing with Story Pirates and beyond, I've cultivated adaptable lessons and unit plans for short stories, genre practice, dialogue and character development, poetry, and drama writing. I write alongside students so they get exposure to model texts and creative guidance in a relaxed one-on-one setting.

Emerging writing for younger students: Writing can be intimidating for younger students, especially since the English language is full of inconsistencies. I bring in games I've created to help with writing fluency, grammar, transition word use, and organization so that even the most reluctant writers can get pages written in an hour.

College Essays: The college essay process can be challenging, even for students who are confident writers. I work with students to tap into their real-life experiences so that they can turn them into compelling and distinctive pieces of writing.

Online copy editing: I offer online comments and copy editing for student drafts of essays.
