Artist statement:

I keep returning to a number of landscapes over the years. In particular Lake Mungo, The Little Desert, Flinders Ranges and Larapinta.

These places resonate deeply - ‘Brushland Ochre’ was painted plein air at Mungo. The usual suspects of color, line, surface and composition engage but it’s the pictorial space at Mungo that has me. The big sky and open track to the Walls of China are mesmerising.  Quiet, beautiful and dense in history.
