Description
Lord of the Siddhas: The Life, Teachings, Parinirvana, and Legacy of Kyabje Dorje Chang Kalu Rinpoche presents the life story of Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche, proclaimed by the Sixteenth Karmapa to be “the Milarepa of our age”, and one of the first lamas to bring the teachings of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition to the world at large. Introduced by Tai Situ Rinpoche, the book includes Kyabje Kalu Rinpoche’s autobiography and its auto commentary, as well as biographies of him written by disciples and stories of his early life and mountain retreats told by his nephew. It includes written and oral teachings given by Rinpoche, songs, poems, letters, his guru yoga, and an episode of the Gesar of Ling saga, one of several he wrote in Tibet. A series of letters describe his parinirvana and funeral and enshrinement ceremonies. Essays written by his disciples discuss his legacy — the Shangpa Kagyu tradition, the translation of Jamgon Kongtrul’s Treasury of Knowledge, the establishment of the Bodhgaya Kagyu Monlam, the practice of the Wisdom Protector Mahakala, and much more.
Lord of the Siddhas is cloth bound, 500 pages in length, and richly illustrated with photographs of Rinpoche, his homeland in Eastern Tibet, and and many of his eminent teachers and disciples. Images of exquisite thangkas, both traditional and contemporary, illustrate his lineage and inner practices. Calligraphies hand written by Rinpoche adorn the book.
“This book is most precious, as the life story of the great yogi and spiritual teacher Kyabje Dorje Chang Kalu Rinpoche, Karma Rangjung Kunkhyab, is condensed within this book. This should be your treasure . . .”: Lama Lodo Rinpoche
