Attend a retreat in Santa Fe, New Mexico, at Upaya Zen Center founded by Roshi Joan Halifax.


This offering entitles one guest to attend any 3- to 4-day Upaya program from the 2020 schedule. Our renowned faculty includes: Roshi Joan Halifax, PhD; Stephen Batchelor; Natalie Goldberg; Roshi Fleet Maull, PhD; Sensei Sokaku Kathie Fischer; Sensei Kaz Tanahashi;  Roshi Eve Myonen Marko; Richard Davidson, PhD; Roshi Enkyo O’Hara; John Dunne, PhD; Wendy Johnson; and Clark Strand.


Included in this offering are: tuition, all meals during the program, and dormitory lodging. Dana to the teachers and residents is respectfully encouraged, but not included.


Upaya is nestled in the green foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains at 7,000 feet above sea level. The traditional and modern adobe buildings combine Southwestern and Asian styles. Stone walkways meander through the native plants and connecting private places with public meeting rooms, a communal kitchen, the meditation hall, and a labyrinth. Guests are free to explore the trails along the Santa Fe River and hike the nearby hills. Meal service features a delicious organic vegetarian menu. The campus is equipped with wireless internet.

This certificate can not be used for any international travel or professional training programs. (Being With Dying, SRM Training, or Chaplaincy Training).
