Description

This Padmasambhava brass statuette from Great Eastern Sun Store is hand cast, ornately detailed solid brass with a silver tone and a dark patina.

Padmasambhava (the Lotus Born), also known as Guru Rinpoche, was an 8th-century Indian Buddhist master, widely venerated as a 'second Buddha' in Tibetan Buddhism. He is said to have taken eight forms or manifestations, representing different aspects of his being, which were the skillful means necessary to overcome the different obstacles to transmitting the dharma in Tibet. Padmasambhava is said to be an emanation of Amitābha, and is said to have hid a number of religious treasures (termas) to be found and interpreted by future tertöns or spiritual treasure-finders.
