Buddhist Astrology: Natal Chart with Jhampa Shaneman
Item Number: 307
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
Buddhist Astrology's Jhampa Shaneman studied astrology as a monastic in Tushita while in one retreat and preparing for the next. "What motivated me," says Jhampa, "was a dream. While debating the pros and cons of studying astrology I dreamt of hearing a huge clap of thunder in the sky. I took this to mean that my studies would have a profound effect on the future."
Jhampa utilized astrology to pick the most beneficial time to start his own three year retreat in India in 1980. Since then he has done charts for many people, both those who meditate seriously and those who wish to utilize Buddhist wisdom in their daily lives. Even non-Buddhists find his insights useful. The reports are presented in a positive manner highlighting your positive potential.
The successful bidder will receive a natal chart complete with printout and interpretation, and audio commentary on CD or by download. The interpretation will cover the last 20-40 years of astrological influences, depending on age, as well as the next 18 months of upcoming transits.
Chart readings are laced with the wisdom of the Buddha and Buddhist practice. It is often possible to tell the individual what style of practice they are best suited for, along with which meditational deities from the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition.
One of the first western Buddhist monks in the Tibetan tradition of Mahayana Buddhism, Jhampa Shaneman met Venerable Lama Yeshe and became his one of his first male sangha members in 1971. From that time Jhampa studied mainly in Dharmsala, India, learning Tibetan. He studied under His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Kyabje Ling Rinpoche (His Holiness's senior tutor) and the Venerable Geshe Rabten and Geshe Dhargaye. He is one of the first western practitioners to be given permission by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to teach all levels of Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism.
