Description

These beautiful and strong Green Tara prayer flags with Tam seed syllable from Buddhadoma are ready for hanging.

The Bodhisattva Tara was born from the tears of Avalokitesvara as he looked down on the sorrows of the world. Her name comes from the Sanskrit word Tara and means literally: carrying across, a saviour, protector; a star, shining.
Her right hand is in the mudra of giving, and her left hand the mudra of fearlessness through going for refuge to the three jewels. Her left leg is tucked up in the meditation posture and her right leg is stepping down into the world. The left leg symbolizes her meditation, while the right symbolizes her compassionate activity in the world.

The Green Tara mantra is Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaha. Tara’s ten syllable mantra may be visualized surrounding the seed syllable Tam (in the center). Mantra is very effective for protection and healing both. Simply repeating the mantra with focus is enough to bring healing. Visualizing Tara’s blessings entering into your body as purifying light, purging illness and pushing out negativities as black smoke or sludge, is even more affirming, strengthening the blessing.
