Use these 5 passes to take your family or friends to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point in Michigan, where shipwreck legends comes to life!
See artifacts and exhibits that tell the stories of sailors and ships who braved the waters of Lake Superior and those who were lost to its menacing waves. See the bell from the Edmund Fitzgerald, the most famous of the 6,000 ships wrecked on the Great Lakes.
The Edmund Fitzgerald lies twisted and broken just 17 miles from Whitefish Point, at a depth of 535 feet.
Museum patrons can learn about the perils of maritime transport on the Great Lakes at the Whitefish Point Light Station, an Historic Site on the National Register of Historic Places. The can aso see the Whitefish Point Light Tower, in continuous operation for 155 years, the oldest operating lighthouse on Lake Superior.
The museum is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day May 1 to Oct. 31. Museum passes never expire.
