Most of us unconsciously learn to combine our senses in order to interpret our environment. Children with autism and other developmental disabilities have difficulty receiving input or processing the input that comes in through their senses. Students may be overly sensitive, causing defensiveness, and/or under-responsive to sensations. This causes them problems in their daily functioning, often mistaken for behavioral problems. Sensory integration strategies can help students maintain a sense of calm and alertness so that they can better participate in the world around them. 

Body Sox  are made with a see through lycra/ spandex material.  Our students use the body sox to help them to experience movement, proprioceptive (detect motion or position of our body), tactile and deep pressure.
