Special Instructions

"Ever wonder where the saying just a flash in the pan' comes from? Ever want to have a great time exploring a piece of history while learning a new skill? Then a Black Powder Event is for you. Learn about the early firearms of the United States, the challenges troops and hunters faced using black powder as the ignition source and the skill required to hit the target'. Practice your marksmanship in fun ways with different targets and different black powder guns. Enjoy a relaxing day at the local gun club facilities with skilled marksman focused on sharing their story and providing a Safety First quality event. This is exactly what my family and I did last year after winning the bid for this event. My husband and two sons learned how to properly pack the barrel, how to sight the targets, and how to adjust based on all the factors that influence the trajectory of the ball. My favorite part was my son's slow-motion video of the black powder rifle shot showing the flash-in-the-pan' before the ball hit the target." -- Rhonda Tendam
