The Flying Squirrel is the first bar/restaurant concept from Crash Pad Hospitality, which owns/operates The Crash Pad: An Uncommon Hostel next door.
Construction on the Squirrel began in late 2012 and involved many of the same local artisans who put in work on the hostel. In spring of '13 we opened our doors with the mission of kicking off a proper bar scene on the Southside, and creating a "third place" besides work and home where the atmosphere is intended to foster conversation and casual enjoyment of fine things.
