Conveniently located in Alameda, CA, the USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum connects the greatest generation of Americans with future generations, educating and inspiring them. 

The USS Hornet has a glorious history. From the 1940s to 1960s, it served America during WW II, Vietnam War and was the carrier that recovered the Apollo 11 and 12 lunar landing missions. The ship was in the naval mothball fleet from 1970 - 1995 until it was opened as a museum in 1998 as the only Sea, Air and Space Museum on the West Coast.
