Katina is the author of the "Northern Forest Canoe Trail Through-Paddler’s Companion", a guidebook to paddling the 740-mile water trail from Old Forge, New York to Fort Kent, Maine and "The Northern Forest Canoe Trail Planning and Paddling Log". In 2011, Katina completed a through-paddle of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, one of less than 50 paddlers to have done so at the time. She is currently in the process of repaddling the entire trail in sections.
