Melissa Riley, a 1975 graduate of Emmanuel College with a BA in art, is a landscape painter who characterizes her work as explorations of shape, texture and color in paint. Her pieces have been shown at the AAM, the True Grit Gallery, the Preservation Framer, Hunakai Studios and most recently in Washington DC.
This small piece is a study in texture. Nothing makes the artist happier than loading one palette knife full color on top of another, then scraping parts of it away.
