Stacy Leeman's paintings and drawings have been exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions throughout the US. Her work is held in public and private collections, including Princeton University. Ms. Leeman has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors. She is represented by the Sharon Weiss Gallery in Columbus, OH and Rutledge Street Gallery in Camden, SC. Ms. Leeman earned her MFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.

The paintings Darrows Words, were created in response to Kevin Boyle's book about Ossining Sweet.  In this series, the artist started by painting the word "word" to create an underlying structure.  The process is like yoga or a meditation in which it is written over and over.  Ms. Leeman also referenced calligraphy and Mark Tobey, an artist who studied and used calligraphic line in his abstract paintings. The limited palette is made of colors that combined would create black and white.  The ambition of these works is an attempt to prove that the language of paint can be just as potent as the language of words.
